Primary biliary cholangitis(PBC, formerly primary biliary cirrhosis): The newly developed and validated GLOBE score predicts transplant-free survival of ursodeoxycholic acid-treated patients with PBC. The score is calculated based on patient age as well as the routine laboratory parameters bilirubin, alkaline phosphatase, albumin, and platelet count, determined 1 year after start of ursodeoxycholic acid therapy.

Hepatitis B and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC): 30 years after implementation of the universal hepatitis B immunization program in Taiwan, hepatitis B-associated HCC is nearly eradicated in children and young adults in Taiwan.
